Cookies and Browser Storage
Reading the atlas does not require an account. The supplied site code keeps its browser interactions deliberately small.
What cookies do
Cookies are small values stored by a browser for a website and may be sent back with later requests. Similar technologies, including local storage, can retain information on a device without using the same request mechanism. Their purpose and duration matter when considering privacy.
What this site’s code uses
The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies or use local storage. They do not include analytics, advertising, third-party embeds or tracking libraries. Mobile navigation and reveal animations use temporary page state, not a persistent identifier.
Server-side hosting or security infrastructure can operate separately from page scripts. This page describes the website’s supplied functionality; browser tools can be used to inspect storage associated with the live site.
The letter tool
Contact fields and the generated letter remain in the current page while you use the tool. The code does not save a draft to persistent browser storage. Your browser may independently remember field entries or restore a tab according to your settings.
Selecting Copy uses the Clipboard API when available and permitted. Selecting Download creates a plain-text file. Neither action is a cookie, and neither sends the letter to us. Clipboard history and local files remain under your control.
Browser controls
You can inspect and remove site cookies and storage through your browser’s privacy or site-data settings. You can also restrict clipboard access and disable JavaScript. The articles remain readable without JavaScript, but the mobile menu enhancement, letter preparation and animated reveals may be unavailable.
Clearing website data does not automatically delete downloaded text files, email messages or operating-system clipboard history. Manage those separately if they contain information you no longer wish to retain.
External websites
Following an external reference takes you to another operator’s website. Its cookies and privacy practices are governed by its own notices. Images, stylesheets and functional scripts in this site’s pages are referenced locally rather than loaded from third-party media or code services.
